Heeeeey everybody! I hope nobody paid the ransom because I escaped (again)! Just to let you know, even though it's posted on the Summer League listing, we have combined our Friday 6:30 and 9:00 pm leagues to start at 7:30 during the Summer. Sign-up are going great and we could use a few more teams if you are interested!

Also, we will be starting some more unique Summer Specials on other nights that I can't tell you about right now, so keep checking the web page for announcements! I guarantee you will love them and they will save you money!

Until next time, Billy

Hi everybody! I guess you probably stopped checking this blog due to my in-attention to it! It's been a tough summer and it sure is nice to see people coming back in again to sign up for leagues and practice.

We have especially enjoyed having the Amateur Bowler's Tour stage several tournaments here, as well as the JJBT Reunion tournament and the Association sponsored "best of the best" scratch tournament open to 190 and above average bowlers. John Suddath deserves a big thank you from all of us for puting it together. We look forward to having more tournaments in the future!

As you drive by, be sure to look at the NEW canopy awning just installed today. It took 6 weeks and had to be custom made but sure looks great! Hopefully the rest of the outside will get it's badly needed attention in the near future.

Til later, have fun!

Hey once again! I know, why can't I keep this thing up to date?! There is just too much to do and too little time to do it. Well, enough excuses.

Whatzupp is............................... Join the Amateur Bowlers Tour (ABT) and win some money and fame! We just finished one last weekend here at Phoenix and it was a big success! You can see more about it at http://jax.abtbowling.com or link to it from my web site.

We are planning on having two more for sure here , one in June and another in July, so check it out!!!!!!

Later, I've spent enough time on this today.

Hey everybody! I know... where the heck has he been?! Well I'm sorry. Time does not usually treat me very well and it takes time to manage a website, including blogging it.

First things first... we are heading toward a new Fall season and already some leagues are filling up rapidly. If you are interested in joining one or returning to a previous league you were in, now is the time to contact us here at the center.

You can check the sign-up sheet posted at the website for a listing of leagues, including the new Men's trio league on Monday at 7 PM and the popular Youth/Adult league Sunday evening.

Now for my soap-box comments:
I am starting to suffer from "information overload" by all the bowling ball manufacturers. I feel that they are publishing information that is misleading although it is basically accurate. Drilling a ball a certain way does not guarantee that it will do as stated on the information sheet. If you are a robot or "bowlbot", you can roll the ball the same way every time, but face it; you are a human and subject to vary your release most of the time.

Always remember: the biggest factors are your release and the surface of the ball. Today's high-tech equipment is high maintenance. It needs to be cleaned on a regular basis to remove the absorbed oil and dirt and the surface maintained in a consistent state, whether polished or dull.

Finally, NEVER leave a ball in the trunk of your car or subject it to high temperature swings! A ball likes the same temperature as YOU do!

Hi again!

Happy "Election day" to you all, especially if you voted! We sure take this honor for granted, but it is such a privilege to be able to have just a tiny say-so in who is in charge of the Hen House!

That being said, Whatszupp!!!!?
I'll tell you whatszupp.... I now have opened an EBay store and am selling all of my bowling collectables, mainly balls dating back to the 1960's.

You can check it out at the link below or find it from the EBay home page.
(copy and paste it in your Browser window)

Until later,
Billy

Hi everybody! I'm baaaaack! Wow. Has it been that long since I posted a blog ? I guess when you are involved in so much, it (time) somtimes just flys by. As Jimmy Buffett sang in one of his songs, "Summers and Winters scatter like splinters".

Yes, I am a Jimmy Buffett fan (a "Parrot-Head" to those of you in the know). I play the Guitar and Electric Bass and some Keyboard. We have a weekly jam session in our play room on Saturday afternoon around 4 pm. Any one who plays GOOD music (mostly older stuff) is welcome to join in.

We still can use some individual bowlers in some leagues. If you're interested, call us at 387-3569 for more information.

I would like this opportunity to say a special "Hi" to my friends a Colonial Bowling Supply in Oviedo, FL.
That would be Ester, "Hookin' Bob Handley", Belinda and the ever elusive Randy. There is many more there, but these are the ones I order most of my Pro Shop supplies from. They are great people to deal with!

Until next time, have fun!

Billy
